HydraFacial®Richmond's Glow Standard
Cleanse. Extract. Hydrate. 30–45 Minutes. Zero Downtime.
RAAC Richmond offers the patented Vortex-Fusion® HydraFacial® system — Health Canada-cleared and supervised by Dr. Charles Jiang MD (CPSBC), Medical Director with 20+ years of experience. In one session, suction-based extraction clears congested pores while pharmaceutical-grade serums are infused simultaneously. Most patients report an immediate, visible glow with no recovery time needed.
What is HydraFacial®?
HydraFacial® is a non-invasive, Health Canada-cleared skin treatment that uses patented Vortex-Fusion® technology to simultaneously cleanse, exfoliate, extract, and infuse medical-grade serums — all in a single 30–45 minute session.
Unlike manual extraction or traditional microdermabrasion, the spiral tip creates a controlled vortex that dislodges impurities through suction while delivering hydration in the same pass. Clinical observations show most patients notice improved texture and radiance immediately after treatment, with congestion clearing progressively over 2–3 sessions. Suitable for all skin tones including melanin-rich skin, with low post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) risk.
Suction Extraction — No Manual Squeezing
Controlled vacuum pressure clears open and closed comedones without traumatizing surrounding tissue or enlarging pores.
Serum Infusion at Peak Absorption
Immediately after extraction, channels are open for maximum uptake of antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid.
Low PIH Risk for Asian Skin
The gentle, non-thermal mechanism avoids the micro-trauma that can trigger post-treatment darkening in darker skin tones.
How HydraFacial® Works: The 3-Step Vortex-Fusion System
HydraFacial® holds a unique device clearance and is not replicated by standard hydro-peel devices. The patented spiral tip and synchronized fluid delivery system distinguish it from generic 'bubble facial' devices found in non-medical settings.
Step 1 — Cleanse & Gentle Peel
The blue tip with Activ-4™ solution softens the stratum corneum and begins gentle exfoliation, opening the treatment channel without causing redness or barrier disruption.
Step 2 — Extract & Hydrate
Beta-HD™ solution, containing salicylic acid, loosens debris while the vortex vacuum suctions out oil plugs and cellular buildup painlessly — simultaneously infusing hydrating solution.
Step 3 — Fuse & Protect
Antiox+™ serum packed with hyaluronic acid, peptides, and antioxidants is delivered into freshly cleared pores, locking in moisture and defending against free-radical damage.
Ideal Candidates & Honest Contraindications
HydraFacial® is suitable for most skin types and tones. At RAAC, Dr. Jiang or a trained clinical aesthetician will assess your skin before each session to confirm suitability and adjust settings for your concern.
Studies and clinical observations support HydraFacial® for:
- +Oily or congested skin with open comedones and enlarged pores
- +Dull, dehydrated, or uneven-textured skin needing a reset
- +Fine lines and mild photodamage on Richmond and Greater Vancouver patients
- +Sensitive and melanin-rich skin (Asian, South Asian, East Asian tones)
- +Pre-event skin preparation or a monthly maintenance baseline
Postpone or consult first if you have:
- –Active rosacea flare or widespread inflammatory acne — wait for the flare to subside
- –Recent retinol, strong AHA/BHA use within 3–5 days, or recent sunburn
- –Open wounds, active cold sores, or post-procedure skin within 1 week of resurfacing
Medical Oversight. Physician-Grade Results.
In Richmond and Greater Vancouver, many clinics offer HydraFacial® — the difference is who is overseeing your care. At RAAC, every treatment protocol is designed by Dr. Charles Jiang MD (CPSBC), ensuring the device is used within its full clinical capability.

Where HydraFacial® Can Be Applied
HydraFacial® is not limited to the face. The same suction-and-infuse mechanism can address congestion and texture concerns on the neck, chest, and back. Treatment is customized per area.
Full Face
The core treatment — addresses pore congestion, texture, dullness, and hydration across all zones including T-zone and cheeks.
Neck & Décolletage
Targets fine lines, dry patches, and uneven texture on the neck and upper chest, areas that often age faster than the face.
Eye Area
A gentler protocol around the orbital area addresses fine lines, puffiness, and dullness with appropriate tip and reduced pressure settings.
What to Expect From Consultation to Glow
A standard HydraFacial® session at RAAC runs 30–45 minutes. Most patients describe the sensation as a cool, smooth gliding device — no pain, no scraping. You can return to normal activities, wear makeup, and be in public immediately after.
Before Your Appointment
Pause retinoids (retinol, tretinoin), AHAs, and BHAs 3–5 days before treatment to prevent sensitivity
Avoid sun exposure and do not come with active sunburn — reschedule if needed
Arrive with clean skin; our team will perform a clinical cleanse as part of the session
During Your Session
Skin Assessment
Your clinician examines skin type, congestion pattern, sensitivity level, and any active concerns to determine tip pressure, booster selection, and any areas to avoid.
Cleanse & Peel (Step 1)
The blue Vortex tip with Activ-4™ softens and begins removing the outermost layer of dead cells, preparing the skin for deeper extraction.
Extract & Hydrate (Step 2)
Beta-HD™ salicylic solution loosens oil plugs and cellular debris while the vacuum tip suctions them out — no manual squeezing, no post-extraction trauma.
Serum Infusion & Add-Ons (Step 3)
Antiox+™ serum floods freshly cleared pores. Optional boosters, LED therapy, or lymphatic drainage are added based on your treatment plan.
After Your Session
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily — sun protection is essential as the skin is freshly resurfaced
Avoid retinoids and strong exfoliants for 48 hours post-treatment
Use gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer and stay well-hydrated to extend the glow effect
*Individual outcomes vary based on skin type, age, lifestyle, and treatment frequency. A series of monthly treatments is recommended for progressive and sustained improvement. Results shown are from actual patients — no digital enhancement.
HydraFacial® FAQ
How long does a HydraFacial® treatment take at RAAC?+
A standard session runs 30–45 minutes, making it feasible during a lunch break. If you add lymphatic drainage, LED therapy, or a clinical booster, expect 60–75 minutes total. No recovery time is needed after.
Is there any downtime after HydraFacial®?+
No downtime. Most patients return to work, socializing, or wearing makeup immediately. Some experience mild transient redness for 20–30 minutes — this resolves on its own and is not typical at the pressure settings used for most skin types.
How many treatments are needed to see results?+
Most patients notice an immediate visible glow after the first session. For congestion, texture, and tone concerns, clinical observations suggest improvement builds over 3–4 monthly treatments. Monthly maintenance thereafter helps sustain results through the skin's natural turnover cycle.
Is HydraFacial® safe for sensitive and Asian skin tones?+
Yes. The non-thermal, suction-based mechanism carries low risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), which is a common concern for melanin-rich skin types. The treatment pressure and serum concentrations are adjusted per patient, and Dr. Jiang's team has extensive experience treating Asian, Chinese, Korean, and South Asian skin at the Richmond clinic.
Can HydraFacial® be combined with other treatments?+
HydraFacial® is frequently used as a preparatory step before radiofrequency (Thermage), laser, or IPL treatments since clear, hydrated pores respond more efficiently to energy devices. Dr. Jiang can design a combined treatment plan — ask at your consultation.
