What is Exilis Ultra 360 and what does it treat?
BTL Exilis Ultra 360 is a needle-free treatment that delivers monopolar radiofrequency and ultrasound together, with surface cooling, to warm the deeper skin and fat. It is used to firm mild to moderate skin laxity on the face and body and to reduce small pockets of localized fat. A typical series is about 4 sessions, a week apart.
The applicator glides gently over the skin while integrated cooling protects the surface and controlled heat reaches the deeper dermis and the fat layer beneath. The heat is intended to stimulate collagen and elastin and to encourage fat cells to shrink. Improvement develops gradually over the weeks after a short series of comfortable sessions. Results vary from person to person.

How does Exilis work?
Simultaneous radiofrequency and ultrasound create controlled deep heating that is intended to remodel collagen, support elastin and reduce localized fat.
Monopolar radiofrequency
Volumetric RF heats the dermis to trigger collagen contraction and long-term remodeling.
Simultaneous ultrasound
Ultrasound energy pairs with RF to drive heat deeper and more efficiently for firming and contouring.
Integrated skin cooling
Real-time surface cooling keeps the treatment comfortable while energy reaches target depth safely.
Collagen, elastin & fat response
Controlled heat stimulates new collagen and elastin and encourages fat cells to shrink over the weeks that follow.

Common Questions
What is Exilis Ultra 360 and what does it treat?+
Exilis Ultra 360 is a BTL device that delivers monopolar radiofrequency and ultrasound together to warm the deeper skin and fat without needles. It is used for mild to moderate skin laxity on the face, jawline and neck, crepey skin, and small pockets of stubborn fat on the abdomen, arms and thighs. Dr. Charles Jiang confirms suitability and plans the areas at your consultation.
How many Exilis sessions will I need, and how long is each one?+
A series of about 4 sessions, roughly one week apart, is typical, and some body areas may need up to 6. Each session usually takes about 15 to 45 minutes depending on the size and number of areas, with no numbing time. The main improvement builds over the weeks after the series, often most visible by 1 to 3 months. We personalize the plan at your consultation, and results vary.
Does Exilis hurt?+
Most people describe Exilis as a warm, relaxing massage. The applicator cools the skin surface while the heat builds underneath, and skin temperature is monitored throughout, so numbing is not normally needed. If an area feels too hot, tell the clinician and the energy is turned down. Comfort varies from person to person.
How is Exilis different from Thermage or Ultherapy, and can they be combined?+
Thermage and Ultherapy are usually planned as a single, more intensive session, while Exilis is a short series of milder sessions with change building gradually, and it can also be used on small pockets of localized fat. Which suits you depends on your skin, the area and your goals. Some plans combine Exilis with Thermage, Ultherapy or EXION Face; our medical team sets the order and spacing.
How much does Exilis cost in Richmond, BC?+
We do not publish Exilis prices online. The cost depends on the areas treated, for example a facial area compared with the abdomen or thighs, and on the number of sessions Dr. Jiang recommends, so it can only be set after your skin has been assessed. You receive a written quote for your plan at the consultation, before you decide whether to go ahead.
Is Exilis suitable for darker or melanin-rich skin?+
Radiofrequency heats tissue rather than targeting pigment, so it is generally used across a wide range of skin tones. The energy settings are chosen by our medical team, and Dr. Jiang confirms suitability for your skin at consultation. Tell us about any history of pigmentation after heat or laser treatments so the plan can allow for it.
Is Exilis the same as HIFU?+
No. HIFU, used by devices such as Ultherapy, focuses ultrasound into small points at set depths to heat tissue under the skin. Exilis Ultra 360 instead spreads monopolar radiofrequency together with ultrasound through a gliding applicator with surface cooling, over a series of milder sessions. If you have seen the name Exilift elsewhere, ask us at your consultation which device a clinic is describing; this page covers Exilis Ultra 360. Dr. Jiang can explain which approach suits your skin.
When will I see results from Exilis, and how long do they last?+
Some people notice slightly firmer skin soon after a session, but the main change develops gradually over the series and the 1 to 3 months after it, as collagen remodels. How long results last depends on age, skin quality and lifestyle, because skin keeps ageing. Occasional maintenance sessions may be suggested. Results vary, and no duration can be promised.
What are the side effects of Exilis?+
The most common effects are warmth and mild redness or pinkness in the treated area, which usually fade within an hour or two. Mild tenderness or slight swelling can occur, particularly where the skin is thin. Less commonly, heat-related skin irritation is possible. Your clinician reviews the risks with you before treatment and adjusts settings to your feedback during it.
Who should not have Exilis?+
Exilis is not offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or to people with a pacemaker, defibrillator or metal implant in the treatment area. Active infection, open wounds, unhealed scars or skin disease in the area also rule it out for now. If you have had fillers or threads in the same area, wait 2 weeks and get clearance first. Dr. Jiang reviews your history at consultation.
Is Exilis a good option for skin tightening, and is it worth it?+
Exilis is a radiofrequency treatment, combined with ultrasound, so it is one form of RF tightening rather than an alternative to it. It can suit mild to moderate laxity and people who want a comfortable, gradual change without needles or downtime. It is not suited to marked sagging, where surgery or other options may serve better. Whether it is worth it depends on that match, which is assessed at consultation. Results vary.
Does Exilis reduce fat?+
Exilis can be used on small pockets of localized fat, such as on the abdomen, arms or thighs, alongside skin tightening. It is not a weight-loss treatment and is not meant for larger areas of fat; it suits people at a stable weight who want to refine a specific area. Any change is gradual over the series, and results vary from person to person.
