RAAC Signature FacialCustomized to Your Skin
60–90 Minutes. Zero Downtime. Physician-Overseen.
RAAC's Signature Facial is not a fixed spa menu — every session begins with a clinical skin assessment and is built around what your skin needs that day: acne, pigmentation, dehydration, or early signs of aging. Under the oversight of Dr. Charles Jiang (CPSBC, Medical Director, 20+ years in aesthetic medicine), we apply medical-grade actives, physician-selected peels, and evidence-informed protocols to deliver visible results without any downtime. Serving Richmond and Vancouver — Mandarin and Cantonese consultations available.
Physician-Directed, Not Template-Based
Standard spa facials follow the same protocol regardless of who sits in the chair. RAAC's Signature Facial begins with a clinical assessment — oil balance, hydration levels, active congestion, and barrier integrity — then builds a bespoke protocol around your findings. The result is a session that treats what your skin actually needs today.
Dr. Charles Jiang's approach: medical-grade skincare must be both effective and comfortable. We draw from evidence-backed professional lines and apply every step at the correct concentration and contact time for your skin type. Extractions are performed only where clinically indicated, using aseptic technique to keep post-procedure inflammation to a minimum. Most patients report noticeably clearer, more luminous skin immediately after treatment.
Deep Pore Decongest
Clinical extraction and enzyme exfoliation clear oxidized sebum and surface congestion from the T-zone and problem areas — without the trauma of aggressive manual technique.
Medical-Grade Hydration
Physician-selected hyaluronic acid serums and barrier-repair actives are infused post-extraction to lock in moisture, restore suppleness, and reduce fine dehydration lines.
Immediate Luminosity
A custom peel or enzymatic exfoliant accelerates surface cell turnover, revealing fresher, more even-toned skin in the same appointment. Studies indicate regular monthly sessions compound this effect over 3–6 months.

Customized Multi-Step Method
No two sessions are identical. Your clinician adjusts peel strength, exfoliant type, extraction scope, and mask formulation based on your skin's condition at the time of treatment — whether addressing an oily T-zone flare, post-travel dehydration, or pre-event prep.
Clinical Skin Analysis
We assess hydration-to-sebum ratio, identify active congestion zones, and note any barrier compromise before selecting your protocol. This 5-minute step determines everything that follows.
Custom Peel or Enzyme Exfoliation
Physician-selected chemical peels or active enzyme blends dissolve the intercellular bonds holding dead cells to the surface — far more precise than physical scrubs that risk micro-trauma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).
Targeted Extraction
Aseptic, instrument-assisted extraction of open comedones (blackheads) and closed comedones in indicated areas only. Limiting extractions to clinically appropriate sites prevents the post-inflammatory pigmentation associated with over-aggressive manual technique.
Infusion, Mask & Optional LED
A treatment mask matched to your primary concern — brightening, calming, or barrier-repair — is applied, followed by ultrasonic or iontophoretic infusion of high-potency serums. LED photobiomodulation can be added to reduce residual inflammation or support collagen production.
Most Skin Types Welcome
The Signature Facial's fully customizable protocol adapts for acne-prone, dehydrated, aging, or sensitive skin. It is RAAC's most versatile single treatment and works equally well as a standalone session or as monthly maintenance alongside laser, microneedling, or injectable procedures.
Well-suited for:
- +Dull or uneven skin tone from stress, pollution, or screen fatigue
- +Open comedones (blackheads) and closed comedones in the T-zone
- +Dehydrated skin with fine surface lines or persistent tightness
- +Sensitized or seasonally reactive skin needing barrier support
- +Monthly skin maintenance between laser, microneedling, or injectable appointments
- +Pre-event prep: most patients leave with immediately visible clarity
Please defer treatment if you have:
- –Open wounds, active herpes outbreak, or active skin infection in the treatment area
- –Active rosacea flare with broken capillaries — schedule a calm-skin consult with Dr. Jiang instead
- –Severe sunburn or recent ablative laser — skin barrier integrity must be fully restored first
- –Oral isotretinoin (Accutane) use within the past 6 months — chemical peels and extractions are contraindicated during this window
Medical Expertise, Not Spa Guesswork
At RAAC in Richmond, BC, every Signature Facial is performed under physician oversight — not by an esthetician following a fixed menu. That distinction shows up in ingredient selection, extraction safety, and the post-treatment guidance you receive.
Physician-Overseen Protocol
Dr. Charles Jiang (CPSBC) reviews each patient's skin history and approves the treatment plan. This provides access to prescription-strength actives and medically trained technique that standard spas cannot legally offer.
Ingredient Transparency
We tell you exactly what goes on your skin and why. Professional lines — including SkinCeuticals — are selected for clinical evidence and concentration accuracy, not retail markup. Ask about any ingredient; we welcome the question.
Aseptic Extraction Standard
All instrument-assisted extractions follow medical sterilization protocols. This is the single most significant risk reduction versus standard facial providers — improper extraction technique is a leading cause of post-facial PIH and scarring.
Multilingual Care Team
Consultations and post-care guidance are available in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese — so nothing is lost in translation when discussing your skin concerns or home care regimen.
We Treat Where You Need It
Tell us your primary concern and we concentrate treatment effort there — without neglecting the overall skin health of the full face.
T-Zone Decongest
Deep extraction and sebum-regulating actives for the nose bridge, nasal folds, and chin where congestion concentrates.
Cheek Hydration
Barrier-repair serums and occlusive masking for dry, tight, or flaky cheek skin — common in Richmond's cold, dry winter months.
Redness & Sensitivity
Anti-inflammatory protocols with niacinamide, centella, and low-level LED to calm reactive areas without further sensitization.
Brightening & Tone-Evening
Vitamin C derivatives and brightening enzyme peels to address post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) and sun-induced dullness — with gentler exfoliation depths selected for skin tones prone to PIH.
Texture Refinement
Chemical exfoliation and infusion protocol to smooth uneven texture and minimize the appearance of enlarged pores before events or photography.
From Analysis to Afterglow
Your 60–90 minute session is structured and unhurried. Dr. Jiang's team walks you through each step so you understand what is being applied and why.
Before Your Appointment
Pause retinoids (retinol, tretinoin) and high-concentration acid products 3 days before — prevents over-exfoliation during your session
Arrive with clean skin if possible; we perform a thorough double cleanse regardless
Disclose current medications, topical prescriptions, and any known skin sensitivities — this directly shapes your protocol
Avoid waxing or laser treatments on the same area within 5 days prior
Stay well-hydrated in the days leading up — internally hydrated skin responds better to infusion steps
During Treatment
Clinical Skin Assessment
Your clinician evaluates skin type, current hydration level, active congestion, and any sensitivity indicators. This determines your exact peel selection, extraction scope, and mask formulation for the day.
Double Cleanse & Prep
An oil-phase cleanser followed by an aqueous cleanser removes all surface residue. Mild steam or warm towel softens follicular plugs ahead of extraction — reducing pressure needed and minimizing trauma.
Custom Peel & Targeted Extraction
A physician-selected enzyme or chemical exfoliant is applied at the correct dwell time. Instrument-assisted extraction then clears indicated comedones in congested areas using aseptic technique throughout.
Mask, Infusion & LED (Optional)
A treatment mask is customized to your concern — brightening, calming, or barrier-repair. High-potency serums are driven deeper via ultrasonic or iontophoretic infusion. Optional LED can then reduce residual redness and support healing.
After Your Treatment
Avoid makeup for at least 12 hours — freshly cleared pores absorb skincare optimally in this window and makeup occlusion can seed new congestion
Use only a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and your prescribed moisturizer for 24 hours
SPF 30+ every morning without exception — exfoliation and extraction transiently increase UV sensitivity
Do not resume retinoids or high-concentration acids for 48–72 hours post-treatment
Most patients schedule their next session in 4 weeks to align with the skin's natural renewal cycle; Dr. Jiang's team will advise your ideal cadence
**Individual outcomes vary based on skin type, lifestyle, and treatment frequency. Results described reflect clinical observations from consistent treatment; no specific outcome is guaranteed.
Straight Answers
How often should I get a Signature Facial?+
Most patients benefit most from sessions every 4 weeks, aligning with the skin's natural keratinocyte turnover cycle of approximately 28 days. If you are managing active PIH, persistent congestion, or preparing for an event, Dr. Jiang's team may recommend a closer initial cadence. For general maintenance, once monthly is the standard recommendation.
Will my skin be red afterward? Can I go directly to work or an event?+
Minor, transient pinkness is possible if you have deeper extractions — this typically resolves within 1–2 hours. Most patients leave looking refreshed and dewy, not visibly red. We do not recommend scheduling the Signature Facial the day-of for a high-stakes event; booking 2–3 days in advance gives any minor reactivity time to fully resolve.
Can I wear makeup immediately after?+
We ask that you skip makeup for a minimum of 12 hours. This gives freshly cleared pores time to close and allows the infused serums to continue absorbing. If you need coverage, choose a non-comedogenic mineral foundation and apply with clean tools.
I have sensitive skin or rosacea — is this safe for me?+
Sensitive skin is well-managed with this protocol when we adjust the exfoliant selection and skip extractions in reactive areas. Active rosacea flares are a reason to postpone — Dr. Jiang would instead recommend a calming LED session or a barrier-focused consult. Disclose your full skin history at booking so we prepare the right protocol in advance.
How is RAAC different from a regular facial spa?+
The key differences are physician oversight, ingredient quality, and extraction safety. Dr. Charles Jiang (CPSBC) reviews all treatment protocols — giving us access to medical-grade actives at clinical concentrations and establishing the aseptic extraction standards that prevent post-facial PIH and scarring common with unregulated spa technique. We also document your skin history across sessions and adjust protocols over time.
Is there any downtime?+
No downtime. This treatment is designed for your lunch break or any day of the week. There is no peeling, crusting, or prolonged redness. The only restriction is avoiding makeup and active topicals for 12 hours post-session.
