Common Questions
Is Skin Booster the same as Dermal Filler?+
No. Although both use Hyaluronic Acid, Fillers are thicker and used to add volume/shape (like in cheeks or lips). Skin Boosters are very fluid and injected superficially to hydrate and improve skin quality without changing your face shape.
What does the downtime look like?+
You may see small raised bumps (like mosquito bites) at the injection sites immediately after. These are deposits of HA and typically flatten out within 24-48 hours. Mild bruising is possible but covers well with makeup.
Does it hurt?+
Most patients find it very tolerable. We apply a strong topical numbing cream for 30-45 minutes before the procedure. Some products also contain lidocaine to numb the area as we inject.
How many sessions do I need?+
For Restylane and Teosyal, we recommend a protocol of 3 sessions spaced 3-4 weeks apart for optimal results. Dermal Fillers Volite can be a single session treatment. Maintenance is usually every 6-9 months.
Can I combine this with other treatments?+
Yes! It pairs excellently with Thermage or Ultherapy. We recommend doing energy devices first, followed by Skin Boosters to rehydrate the skin.
When will I see results?+
Initial improvements are visible within 1-2 weeks. Full results develop over 4-6 weeks as collagen production increases. The skin continues to improve for up to 3 months.
