About Radiesse®
Radiesse® is a biostimulatory dermal filler made of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. Upon injection, the gel provides immediate volume and lift, while the CaHA particles act as a “scaffold” that stimulates the body’s natural production of collagen (and elastin), gradually replacing the gel as it breaks down.

Radiesse is a biostimulatory dermal filler made of microscopic calcium-hydroxylapatite (CaHA) particles suspended in a gel.When injected, it provides immediate volume while the CaHA stimulates your body to produce new collagen over time. It’s FDA-approved for treating moderate to severe wrinkles/folds (like nasolabial folds) and for restoring volume in the back of the hands.
Traditional dermal fillers—such as hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers—mainly add volume by filling space. Radiesse not only adds volume instantly but also stimulates long-term collagen production. Unlike HA fillers, Radiesse is not dissolvable with hyaluronidase and typically lasts longer.
Common side effects include temporary redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, or firmness at the injection site. Less commonly, small lumps or nodules may occur. As with any injectable treatment, rare risks such as infection or unintentional injection into a blood vessel can occur, which is why choosing an experienced injector is essential.
