Radiesse® is a firmer gel that gives immediate lift and also stimulates collagen, so it is often chosen for cheeks, jawline, deeper folds and hands. Sculptra® gives no immediate volume and builds it gradually from your own collagen over a course of sessions. Hyaluronic acid fillers are softer, suit fine detail and the lips, and can be dissolved. Your physician recommends one or a combination based on the area.

Common effects are swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness for a few days, and lumps, nodules or asymmetry can occur. A practical downside is that Radiesse® cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase the way hyaluronic acid filler can; it is gradually metabolized instead, so careful planning matters. Its firm gel is also not used in the lips or under the eyes. Rarely, filler can block or compress a blood vessel, which needs urgent attention, so contact us promptly about severe pain, skin colour change or vision changes.

The gel is firm and built for structure and lift, which suits cheeks, jawline, folds and hands. Avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for 24-48 hours, saunas and hot tubs for 1 week, and facial massage or other facial treatments for 2 weeks.
