What is a HydraPeel facial and who is it for?
HydraPeel is a non-invasive hydro-dermabrasion facial. Oxygen and active serums are atomized under pressure onto the skin while water flow and a glycolic and salicylic acid blend loosen and carry pore debris away. At RAAC it suits oily, congested or dull skin and takes about 30 minutes.
HydraPeel (also written Hydra Peel or hydro peel) and HydraFacial are different systems. HydraFacial uses a spiral-tip vortex handpiece with serum steps and optional boosters; HydraPeel uses pressurised oxygen with a glycolic/salicylic blend. If you are unsure which suits you, your clinician can advise at booking, or consider our Signature Facial for a longer, fully customized medical facial.
High-velocity Oxygenation
Carries away keratotic debris and excess oil from pores for deep cleansing.
Chemical Exfoliation
Uses a blend of Glycolic and Salicylic Acid to loosen dead skin cells without peeling.
Deep Infusion
Applies antioxidant serums straight after cleansing.

How does high-pressure oxygen cleansing work?
High-pressure oxygen skin infusion lifts impurities from within pores while delivering nourishing serums at the same time.
Hydro-Dermabrasion
Uses water-based exfoliation instead of abrasive crystals, and settings are adjusted to your skin type.
High-pressure Atomization
Uses high-pressure atomization to lift impurities from the pores, with settings chosen to stay gentle on the skin.
Serum Infusion
Delivers active ingredients into the skin straight after cleansing.
Comfortable Process
Gentle enough for many sensitive skins when settings are adjusted, yet effective for comprehensive pore cleansing.

What happens during a HydraPeel session?
A session takes about 30 minutes. Most people feel cool water, light suction and a mild tingle from the acids; there are no needles and no numbing is needed. Temporary redness can occur and usually settles within hours, and most people return to normal activities, and can wear makeup, the same day. Skin often looks cleaner and brighter straight away. The effect is temporary, so about one session a month is a common rhythm.

HydraPeel Facial Questions Answered
Is HydraPeel suitable for acne-prone skin?+
It often suits acne-prone and congested skin. The extraction step removes pore-clogging debris such as whiteheads and blackheads, and the salicylic acid helps manage oil. It is not a treatment for active inflamed acne or open spots, which suction and acids can irritate; your clinician will advise at assessment and may suggest an acne plan first.
What does HydraPeel feel like?+
Most people compare it to a cool paintbrush moving over the face, with light suction and a mild tingle from the acids. There is no needling and no numbing is needed. The nose and chin can feel a little more intense during extraction. Mild temporary redness can occur and usually settles on its own within hours.
Where can I get a HydraPeel facial near Vancouver?+
RAAC offers HydraPeel at Unit 110, 5580 No. 3 Rd in Richmond, BC, about a 3-minute walk from Lansdowne Station on the Canada Line, so it is a short SkyTrain trip from Vancouver and Burnaby. The clinic is open daily 9:00 to 18:00, with service in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. A session takes about 30 minutes, so it fits a lunch break.
How much does a HydraPeel facial cost?+
The cost depends on the area treated, which professional booster serums your skin needs, whether it is combined with another treatment, and whether you book a single session or a monthly plan. We do not publish prices online; your clinician assesses your skin and gives you a quote before treatment. HydraPeel and HydraFacial are different systems, so their prices are not directly comparable.
What is the difference between HydraPeel and HydraFacial?+
They are different systems. HydraFacial uses a patented spiral tip and a fixed 3-step protocol; HydraPeel uses high-pressure oxygen infusion with a customizable acid and serum blend. Both are roughly 30-minute deep-cleansing facials. Your clinician can recommend one based on your skin.
Can HydraPeel be combined with other treatments?+
Yes. HydraPeel is often used as a skin-clearing step before laser or Thermage treatments, and it can sit alongside other facials or skin treatments in one plan. Stronger treatments are usually spaced apart rather than done on the same day. We build combination plans at consultation based on your needs.
How long do HydraPeel results last, and how often should I book?+
The cleaner, smoother look usually shows straight away and lasts from several days to a few weeks, depending on your skin and routine. Pores refill with oil and debris over time, so about one session a month is a common maintenance rhythm; congested skin may start a little closer together. Results build with regular sessions, are not permanent and vary from person to person.
Is there downtime, and can I have it before an event?+
There is usually no downtime. Some people have mild redness that settles within a few hours, and makeup can go on straight away. Before an important event, book a few days ahead, especially for a first session, so you know how your skin responds. Avoid saunas, hot yoga and heavy sweating for 24 hours, use gentle fragrance-free products and wear sunscreen daily.
Can I have HydraPeel while pregnant or breastfeeding?+
Tell us first. The standard HydraPeel uses a glycolic and salicylic acid blend, and salicylic acid is generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The physician may advise waiting, or discuss whether the acid blend can be adjusted for you. Please do not book without mentioning it, and check with your own doctor if you are unsure.
Is HydraPeel suitable for sensitive skin or rosacea?+
Often, with adjusted settings. The acid blend and pressure can be lowered for sensitive skin, and many people with mild redness tolerate it. Severe or flaring rosacea, facial eczema or broken skin should settle first, because exfoliation can aggravate them. Your clinician assesses your skin on the day and may suggest another option.
How is HydraPeel different from a regular facial?+
A regular facial usually relies on manual cleansing, steaming and hand extractions. HydraPeel uses a device that combines water-based exfoliation, a mild glycolic and salicylic acid step and suction to clear pores, then applies serums. At RAAC it is done in a medical clinic, so it is adjusted to your skin and medications and can be planned alongside other treatments.
What should I avoid before and after HydraPeel?+
Before: stop retinoids and exfoliating products 3 days ahead, avoid facial waxing for 2 weeks, and come with clean, makeup-free skin. After: avoid touching your face for the first 4 hours, skip saunas, hot yoga and heavy exercise for 24 hours, use gentle fragrance-free products and wear sunscreen daily.
