They are suited to mild to moderate sagging with reasonable skin elasticity; severe sagging may need surgery. The lift is visible straight away and continues to improve over 3 to 6 months. The threads dissolve gradually over about 18 to 24 months, and results commonly last around 12 to 18 months, varying with age, skin quality and metabolism.

Avoid exaggerated facial movements and wide yawning for 2 weeks, and dental work or facial massage for 4 weeks. Sleep with your head elevated for the first few nights and use a cold compress for swelling. Contact the clinic if swelling worsens, redness spreads or you develop a fever.
Who should not have a thread lift?+
It is not offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active skin infection or inflammation in the area, or with a blood clotting disorder. Active autoimmune conditions that affect healing, blood thinners that cannot be paused, and sagging advanced enough to need surgery also rule it out or need your physician's review first. Never stop a prescribed medication on your own.
What are the risks and side effects?+
Swelling, bruising, tenderness and skin dimpling are common in the first week or two. Less commonly, a thread can be felt or seen under the skin, the face can look asymmetric, or an infection can develop; rarely a thread needs adjusting or removal. Your physician reviews these risks with you before you decide.
