Lifting without surgery, planned in person in Richmond

Ultherapy PRIME uses image-guided micro-focused ultrasound to lift and tighten the skin on the brow, jawline, under-chin and neck. Start with a physician assessment at RAAC in Richmond to find out whether it suits your degree of laxity.

For Vancouver patients

Is Ultherapy worth the trip to Richmond?

People searching for Ultherapy in Vancouver are usually weighing three things: whether their laxity is mild enough for an ultrasound treatment, how long a session takes, and whether the journey is justified for what is often a single visit. RAAC is in Richmond, on the Canada Line. The assessment is led by the physician team under Medical Director Dr. Charles Jiang, and you can find out what to expect before any treatment is booked.

Ultherapy PRIME (Merz) is aimed at mild to moderate laxity: a lowered brow line, a softening jawline, loose skin under the chin and neck, and lines on the chest. A session usually takes 60 to 90 minutes depending on the areas treated. You may notice some tightening straight away, but the lifting develops gradually over 2 to 3 months. Severe sagging may be better suited to other options, which your physician will discuss with you.

Planning your Ultherapy day from Vancouver

Because a session can take 60 to 90 minutes, it helps to set aside much of an afternoon for the visit and to have the assessment done beforehand.

1

Request a consultation

Book a phone consultation if you want to ask about areas, timing and suitability before travelling. The in-person assessment follows.

2

Laxity and suitability check

Your physician looks at where and how much the skin has loosened, and checks for reasons to wait or choose differently, such as open wounds or severe cystic acne in the area, an active metal implant like a pacemaker, or pregnancy.

3

Treatment session

Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup or skincare products. Ultrasound is delivered with real-time imaging; you will feel small amounts of energy at precise depths, and comfort measures are available.

4

Heading home

Most people return to normal activities the same day. Flushing, slight swelling, tingling or tenderness can occur, and usually settles within hours to a few weeks. Keep up your normal skincare and sun protection.

Ultherapy questions we hear from Vancouver patients

One session or more?

Most patients have one treatment. Depending on the degree of laxity, some benefit from a touch-up about once a year. Individual results vary.

When will I see a change?

Some tightening may be felt right away. Real structural lifting develops over 2 to 3 months, and the full effect is typically seen 3 to 6 months after treatment.

Which areas can be treated?

Brow, mid-face, jawline, under-chin, neck and décolletage. The areas worth treating, and in what order, are set at your assessment.

Who should not have Ultherapy?

Open wounds or lesions, severe or cystic acne, or active metal implants in the treatment area; pregnancy or breastfeeding; and some autoimmune conditions, which are reviewed at the consultation.

Questions from Vancouver Patients

How is the cost of Ultherapy worked out?+

Price is set by treatment area and quoted after your physician's assessment, so there is no single figure that fits everyone. Ask about the quote when you book your consultation.

Do I need a referral from my family doctor?+

No. A referral is not needed for aesthetic treatments; RAAC is a private clinic and you can book directly.

Can the first consultation be done by phone before I make the trip?+

Our booking page is set up for a phone consultation, so you can ask your questions about Ultherapy first and decide whether to come in. The in-person assessment is still where the physician confirms suitability and the plan.

Can I go back to work in Vancouver after treatment?+

Most people return to normal activities the same day. Temporary redness, swelling, tingling or tenderness can occur, so if your work involves a lot of public contact, ask at the assessment how you might expect to look afterwards.

How do I get to the clinic from Vancouver, and is there parking?+

By transit, take the Canada Line to Lansdowne Station, exit toward No. 3 Road and head south; it is about a 3-minute walk. If you drive, building parking is entered from Ackroyd Road and reception validates your plate number for the first 2 hours. Lansdowne Centre parkade, 5 minutes away on foot, is the backup.
